About
Representative Scott Slaugh’s pioneer ancestors came to Colorado shortly after it became a state in the late 1870s. Every generation since then has been part of the rugged individualism that built the American West and Colorado: miners, ranchers, hunters, oil-field workers, horsemen, and builders.
Scott himself was born in Englewood, adopted as an infant, and raised in Milliken, a part of his district today. In fact, he has lived in his district his entire life, with the only exceptions being college, and missionary and military service.
He is proud to come from a family of Military Veterans that have served the United States in every major war since the American Revolution. He himself is a current Army Reserve officer of 23 years, having served two combat deployments in Iraq and East Africa, three years in Europe, and two on Army Staff at the Pentagon.
When not serving full-time in the Army, he has a small homebuilding company, Fall River Homes, that he started in 2016 after working in the industry for seventeen years in between military and college. He has been married to his wife Diana for sixteen years and they have four children.
Fundamental to his desire to serve the people of Colorado and America are his beliefs in God, American exceptionalism, the Natural Rights of all mankind – Life, Liberty, and Property, and that the traditional Colorado values of hard work, self-determination, conservation, and innovation are still at the heart of Colorado’s past, present, and future.
