Representative Lisa Frizell grew up in Douglas County and remembers a time that Castle Rock had one stop light and there was only one high school in the entire county. Lisa was elected to represent House District 45 in November of 2022; prior to that she worked twenty-five years in the Douglas County Assessor’s Office and served two terms as the county assessor.

Through her tenure in the Douglas County Assessor’s Office, Lisa walked the walk of fiscal responsibility while delivering best in class customer service and brings her commitment to small and limited government to her role in the 74th General Assembly. Representative Frizell lends her experience to three House Committees of Reference: Business Affairs & Labor; Finance; and Appropriations. Additionally, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and on the interim Legislative Oversight Committee Concerning Tax Policy and Task Force.

As a first term legislator, Lisa worked to pass two bills to ease the challenging property tax burden currently facing all Coloradans. While the most impactful of these important bills was unsuccessful, the second which allows local governments to temporarily provide property tax credits was signed into law. Rep. Frizell ultimately passed eight bills on a wide range of topics, including affordable housing and consumer protection.

Representative Frizell’s deep roots in both her community and her profession are evidenced by her volunteer activities. As a self-described volunteer-aholic, Representative Frizell has served as both Chair and Treasurer of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; President of the Colorado Assessors Association, 2nd Vice President of Douglas County Republican Women, been a Girl Scout Leader; Metropolitan District Board Director; Precinct Leader; and Chaired the Castle Rock Artfest for four years.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Colorado and completed post graduate studies in accounting. Lisa lives with her husband David in Castle Rock, and they share three children and two amazing granddaughters.
