Representative Carlos Barron Elected as House Republican Caucus Whip
(Denver, CO – July 7, 2025) – Representative Carlos Barron has been elected by his colleagues to serve as the new House Republican Caucus Whip.
A proud resident of Fort Lupton, Barron immigrated from Mexico as a child and now represents House District 48. With a background in business and leadership in the oil and gas industry, Barron brings a strong work ethic and conservative values to the Whip role.
“I’m honored to serve as Caucus Whip and thankful for the trust of my colleagues,” said Barron. “Together, we’ll work to protect our rights, strengthen our economy, and stand up for Colorado families.”
“Representative Barron worked with Representative Armagost last session as an Assistant Whip,” said House Minority Leader Rose Pugliese. “He brings a steady, solutions-focused approach that will serve our members and all Coloradans well.”
“With a deep understanding of teamwork, discipline, and the importance of staying connected to the people we represent, Representative Barron will be a strong addition to our leadership team,” added Assistant Minority Leader Ty Winter. “We’re excited to have him in this role.”
Barron previously served on the Fort Lupton Planning Commission. In the legislature, he champions energy independence, parental rights, and the Second Amendment.
