House Republicans Elect Jarvis Caldwell as Minority Leader
(Denver, CO - September 20, 2025) – The Colorado House Republican Caucus today announced that Representative Jarvis Caldwell (R - Monument) of House District 20 has been elected to serve as House Minority Leader for the upcoming legislative session.
In his remarks, Leader Caldwell emphasized that Colorado is at a turning point, facing unprecedented challenges with crime, safety, overspending, and the growing strain on families. He made clear that “things have to change in Colorado because we are at a breaking point and Coloradans deserve better.”
Leader Caldwell pledged that Republicans will continue to unify and put forward the best ideas to make Colorado a place where the next generation can thrive. As a father of two young boys, he underscored the urgency of restoring prosperity to Colorado so that “the next generation inherits a state stronger than the one we have today.”
Highlighting the rapid growth of government, Caldwell noted: “The state budget has increased by 50% since 2019. Ask yourselves, have your roads, schools, healthcare, or safety gotten 50% better? Have they gotten any better at all?”
He stressed that Coloradans are “sick and tired of the status quo,” and under one-party rule, things have not improved.
Leader Caldwell called on Democrats to decide if they are willing to come to the table to deliver real solutions. “I will fight to restore Colorado to a prosperous state where families are safe, communities are strong, and government is accountable to the people we are elected to represent.”
