Job Description:
The Caucus is looking for a Political Communications Director to lead our communications strategy. The right person for this role will be a skilled communicator with a deep understanding of the political landscape of Colorado, the legislative process, and political nuance regarding legislative business. They'll be responsible for crafting our message, building relationships with the media, tracking and improving media performance, and overseeing all communications activities for our caucus.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a regular communications strategy aligned with the caucus's goals
Write press releases, speeches, op-eds, and other communications materials
Build and maintain relationships with the media, including both traditional and digital outlets
Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports to caucus leadership
Manage a team of communications professionals, including press secretaries and social media managers
Oversee the production of digital and print materials, such as newsletters and website content
Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, political science, or a related field
Preferred 3+ years of experience in political communications
Proven track record of success in a similar role
Deep understanding of the legislative process and the issues important to the caucus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Employment Information:
The salary range is $60,000-$70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
